Shirley K. (Klopp) Stricker

Shirley K. Stricker, 87, died March 14, 2025 in her Muhlenberg Township residence.

Born April 8, 1937, in Shillington, she was a daughter of the late Walter W. and Ruth M. (Gaul) Klopp.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Lee Stricker, Sr. in 2017.

Shirley was a 1955 graduate of Governor Mifflin High School.

She was employed as a banker with Shillington Savings, Great Valley Savings, and ultimately, Fulton Bank for 33 years, retiring in 1999.

Shirley enjoyed all the vacations she went on with her family and friends.  They traveled from Hawaii to Alaska and Delaware to North Carolina.  She also enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s and great grandchildren’s events, including racing at Maple Grove, football, baseball, and lacrosse games.

She was a lifelong member of Alsace Lutheran Church, Muhlenberg Township.

Surviving are her two children: Jeffrey W., husband of Kim S. Stricker of Cumru Township and Cindy L., wife of Scott E. Williams of Muhlenberg Township; and her daughter-in-law, Rhonda L. Stricker of Ontelaunee Township.

Also surviving are her seven grandchildren: Jason R., husband of Kim; Ryan L., husband of Heather; Gerry, husband of Karrissa; Joey; Kara, wife of Mike; Jonathan, and Jessica; and eight great grandchildren: Savanna; Julia, wife of Gabe; Aeris; Colby; Brayden; Mason; Emerson; and Waylon.

In addition, she is survived by her brother, Robert J. Klopp, husband of Bonnie of Robesonia and her sister, Mary Ann Rupp of Ephrata.

Shirley was preceded in death by her son, Richard L. Stricker, Jr., who died in 2011; and her brothers, Merritt and Lee Klopp, and her sister, Madelyn Klopp.
