Stanley B. Swavely, 94, formerly of Pike Township, died May 18, 2018 in Manatawny Manor, Chester County.
Born April 30, 1924 in Pike Township, he was a son of the late Ernest R. and Eva M. (Bechtel) Swavely.
He was a graduate of Boyertown High School.
Stanley was a member of St. Joseph’s (Hill) Lutheran Church, Pike Township.
He was an Army Veteran of WWII, where he was a paratrooper and was a recipient of the Purple Heart.
Stanley was predeceased by his sister, Sadie B. Weller and his long time friend of 30 years, Shirley D. Richard, who died April 16, 2018.
He is survived by a nephew, Curtis L., husband of Shawn (Downer) Weller of Colebrookdale Township and four nieces: Linda L. (Weller) Brunner of Harrisburg, Donna E. (Weller), widow of Rodney Garmen of Mount Joy, Lancaster County, Joanne M. (Weller), wife of Howard Cummings of Oley and Teresa A. (Weller) Pfeiffenberger of Jermyn, PA.
Services will be held Tuesday, May 22nd at 11:00 am in Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 423 Main Street, Oley.
A viewing will be held Tuesday from 10:00 am until time of services.
Burial will be in Hill Church Cemetery, Pike Township.
