Sue Davis-Haas Obituary


Sue Lynn Davis-Haas, 67, died December 5, 2018 in her Exeter Township residence.
She was the wife of Richard H. Haas, to whom she was married April 11, 1987.
Born January 31, 1951 in Rochester, PA, she was a daughter of the late David Russell and Ruth (Grant) Davis.
Sue was a graduate of Rochester High School, Rochester, PA and attended Indianan University of Pennsylvania.
As an artist, she enjoyed painting, drawing and doing crafts.
She volunteered with various organizations, including BCIU, Berks Women in Crisis, BCTV and YWCA, where she was also a board member, Sue was also a program leader for Girl Scouts.
Sue was a very caring person, she was always willing to help someone less fortunate than her to get into a better position in life.  
She was employed with Allegheny Mental Health Association for numerous years, and subsequently, as the Director of the Mental Health Association, Reading, for 11 years.  Most recently, she was employed by Circle of Friends Drop-in Center, Reading for 8 years, retiring in 2017.  She also worked at Olivet’s Boys and Girls Club in Reading for a number of years.  Sue was a mother to all of the consumers at the centers she was associated with.  She gave everything she could to help them.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, is her sister, Diane Davis Zewe of Wexford, Allegheny County and Diane’s daughter, Caitlin Norton; and Sue’s adopted daughter, Tracey Lynn Griffith of Reading.
A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, December 13, 2018 at 6 p.m. at Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 423 Main Street, Oley.  A visitation will be held from 5-6 p.m.
