Thelma V. Manwiller

Thelma V. (Mutter) Manwiller, 100, died February 1, 2023 in her Boyertown residence, surrounded by her loving family.

She was the widow of Raymond D. Manwiller who died in 1999.

Born March 9, 1922, in Frederick, Montgomery County, she was a daughter of the late George L. and Katie (Snell) Mutter.

A seamstress her whole life, Thelma was employed with Mistee Lingerie, Boyertown for a number of years.

Thelma was the eldest member of Salem United Church of Christ, Oley.

She was an avid quilter and enjoyed embroidery, which she did for the women’s guild at church.  Thelma also enjoyed doing word searches.  

Surviving are her five children: Marvin L., husband of Linda Manwiller of Brooksville, FL; Kenneth E., husband of Marge Manwiller of New Ipswich, NH; Carolyn R., wife of John K. Eckert of Pike Township; Betty A., widow of Gregory A. Gauger of Boyertown; and Alan L., husband of Virginia Manwiller of Nazareth, Northampton County.

There are also eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren surviving.

Thelma is also survived by her brother, Earl V. Mutter of Wyomissing.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, February 6th at 11 a.m. at Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 423 Main Street, Oley.  A viewing will be held from 9:30-11:00 a.m.  Burial will follow the service at Oley Cemetery, Spangsville.  The funeral will be live-streamed, and can be accessed at the funeral home’s website, at the bottom of Thelma’s obituary page.
