Obituary

Thomas Lee Hoffman, 53, of Temple, died very unexpectedly on May 19, 2023.  He was a man with a heart of gold.

The loving husband of Stefania (Candelori) Hoffman, they would have been married 25 years in November.

Born February 1, 1970, in Reading, he was a son of the late LeRoy Franklin Hoffman and Linda Rea (Messner) Firus, wife of the late Ewald Firus.

Tom was a 1989 graduate of Conrad Weiser High School.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, and was stationed in Germany as a diesel mechanic.

A dedicated employee, he was a diesel mechanic with Berks Products, Rahns Concrete, and lastly Asphalt Maintenance Solutions, Emmaus, where he was employed as a foreman for the last 5 years.

Tom was a member of Holy Guardian Angels R.C. Church, Hyde Park.

He enjoyed spending time working in his yard, making it perfect; he loved fishing, clay shooting, and going to the shooting range with his wife.  Tom loved animals.

A music enthusiast, he loved going to concerts.  He was also a NASCAR fan.

He was known for being great at entertaining others, which he loved to do.  He also enjoyed the finer things in life, like sipping his favorite whiskey or tequila.

Devoted to his family and friends, he was always available to help them when they needed his expertise.

Tom was a member of the Berks FOP Lodge #71, Temple Fire Company Beneficial Association, and Northmont Fellowship Association.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his two children: Zachary Thomas Hoffman, and his significant other, Mackenzie Lawson of Muhlenberg Township and Juliana Leigh Hoffman, and her significant other, Connor Monk of Temple.

He is also survived by his sister, Mary Ann (Hoffman), wife of Robert A. Bieber of Sinking Spring.

Other survivors include Tom’s in-law’s who considered him their son and brother, and he loved them as his own family.  His mother-in-law, Domenica, widow of Gino Candelori; his sisters-in-law, Gabriella, wife of Matthew Alessandroni and Lisa, wife of James Russo; and his brother-in-law, Luigi D. Candelori, husband of Elizabeth K. Candelori.

Tom will be sadly missed by many other relatives, including nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.  He was loved by all who knew him.
