Walter Jacob Lange, 86, formerly of Philadelphia PA and later South River NJ, died April 9, 2025 at Complete Care at Berkshire, Exeter Township, Berks County PA.
Born October 15, 1938, in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Walter and Margaret (Glaab) Lange.
Walter was a graduate of North Catholic High School, Philadelphia, and LaSalle College, Philadelphia, where he earned a BA in accounting.
His career as an accountant began with Amstar Sugar Company, Philadelphia, where he worked for 15 years. Subsequently, he worked for various companies, in the same capacity, until retiring from Hostess Brands Inc. in 2003.
Surviving are his six children: John W. Lange of Lower Pottsgrove, PA; Laura R. Emerich of Shoemakersville, PA; Kathleen M. Freed, wife of Thomas of Sanatoga, PA; John A. Hourigan, husband of Karen of Spotswood, NJ; Marc M. Lange of South River, NJ; and Curt A. Lange, husband of Olibia of Keyport, NJ.
Also surviving are his eight grandchildren: Thomas, Christopher, Tara, Anthony, Samantha, Katelyn, Tiffany, and Curt, Jr.; and three great grandchildren: Thomas, Mack, and Arlo.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeffrey B. Adams, and by his sister, Margaret R. Lange.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at 12 noon at Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A viewing will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, Langhorne PA.
