Wesley Harrison Goss

Wesley Goss, 79, of Temple, passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at the Reading Hospital. 

He was the loving husband of Linda Goss who he shared 55 years of a happy marriage with.  

Born May 20, 1947 in Reading, PA, he was the son of the late Wesley E. Goss and Fern (Gehris) Goss. 

Wes graduated from Muhlenberg High School in 1967 and then enlisted into the army to honorably serve his county during the Vietnam War. He served in the infantry unit from 1968 and 1969. Wes was known to be an expert with his M-16 and was also the golden glove winner of the boxing matches they participated in. He was a true hero and was awarded with the Bronze Star Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal. 

After he returned home he remained in the army reserves until 1974. Wes stayed local and got a job at Carpenter Technologies where he was employed as a steelworker for 38 years. 

Wes loved to stay active and never liked to sit still. In his free time he enjoyed going on walks, riding his bike, and doing yard work. These activities originated from him being a stand out athlete in Highschool where he excelled as a linebacker on the football team. As he got older he even participated in a men's softball league. Wes was an avid Minnesota Vikings and Philadelphia Phillies Fan. Either of those teams could change his entire mood for the day. Wes loved going to his grandchildren's sporting events and supporting them with any activities they were involved in.  

Being at the beach was the time in his life where he was able to relax. He loved to soak up the sun and listen to his rock music, specifically classic rock. He enjoyed vacationing to Wildwood, NJ and beaches in Maryland with the family. Wes was an amazing father, husband, and grandfather who would do anything to help his family. 

Surviving are two children, Jameson Goss, husband of Stacey Lynn Wolfe of Reading, PA, and Tiffany (Goss) Clemison, wife of Dan of Reading, PA. 

Also surviving are three grandchildren: Wesley Clemison; Paige Clemison; and Lynnlee Goss. 

He was predeceased by two sisters, Jeanette Barnett and Paulette Shuker, wife of Jerry Shuker.

He leaves behind four nieces and nephews: Tema Barnett; Matthew Shuker; Judy Creps; Jeffrey Shuker. As well as seven nieces and nephew in-laws. 

Wes’s in-laws are also surviving: Pam Cianciosi; Garry Kehs; and Melanie Kehs. 

A service will be held Thursday, June 18, 2026, at 7 p.m. at the Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc., Lauderdale, 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale, PA 19605. A visitation will take place prior from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the same location. Burial will be private at a later date.
