William Adam Long, 83, of Exeter Township, died February 6, 2026 at Complete Care at Berkshire, Exeter Township.
He was the widower of Louisa Carmella (Lionti) Long.
Born June 12, 1942, in Reading, he was the son of the late June Mae (Wenrich) Long.
Bill, also known as Skeeter, was a 1960 graduate of Reading High School.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Little Rock.
Bill was employed as a tow motor operator with Dana Corporation for 30 years, retiring in 2000. Following his retirement, he drove school bus for several years for the Wyomissing Area School District.
He was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church, Wyomissing, obtaining certification as a Stephens Minister, and could often be found in the sound booth during services or acting as a head usher.
Bill was an avid Philadelphia sports fan, especially the Phillies and Eagles. (Go, Birds!)
He was a hardworking man who showed his love through helping his family and friends in countless ways. His greatest joy was his family.
William was the father of Beth A. Long of Shillington; Kenneth W. Long of McAllen, TX; and Joseph M. Long, husband of Karin E. of West Reading.
He was the grandfather of Kerry, Jordan, Jacob, Dylan, and Liam; great grandfather of Damon; and the brother of Sandra R. Hinsey, widow of Randall, and the late Kathleen M. Deck, wife of Dwight of Fayetteville, NC.
Services will be held Tuesday, February 17th at 11 a.m. at Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A viewing will be held from 9:30-11 a.m. Entombment will be at Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to your local pet shelter.
