William Bellman Weand, III, 70, died September 25, 2023 in his Penn Township residence.
He was the loving husband of Diane Marie (Yourkavitch) Weand, with whom he shared 45 years of marriage.
Born February 16, 1953, in Reading, he was a son of the late William Bellman Weand, Jr. and June (Bohn) Weand.
William was employed as a bakery engineer for over 30 years, spending the majority of his career with Penn Dutch Cookie and Fleetwood Snacks.
A racing enthusiast, William started his racing career in the 70s, racing modifieds and subsequently, raced micro sprints from 1988-2006. His racing ‘gene’ has been passed onto his son, granddaughter, and grandson.
William also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his two children: Michelle D. (Foose), wife of Scott A. Oswalt of Mohrsville and William B. Weand, IV of Reading.
There are also two grandchildren, Kaitlyn A., wife of Frank M. Daugherty and Hunter R. Weand; and a great granddaughter, Raegan M. Daugherty.
He will also be sadly missed by his yellow lab, Calie.
William was preceded in death by his sister, Joy Weand.
Graveside services were held privately at Fairview Cemetery at Belleman’s Church. Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., Laureldale handled the arrangements.
