Elmer August Taulker

Elmer August Taulker, 80, formerly of Oley, passed away September 26, 2016 in the Nottingham, PA residence of his daughter Wendy.   He was married for 56 years to the late Dorothy Ann (Hoch) Taulker, who died in 2014.

Born June 11, 1936 in Gibsonburg, OH, Elmer was the son of the late Elmer Henry and Rose (Kontak) Taulker.  He was a graduate of Gibsonburg (OH) High School and earned several college credits before entering the service with the US Army.

Elmer was employed as a salesman with J. Fegley and Son, Pottstown, PA, retiring after 20+ years of service to become a gentleman farmer.  He thoroughly enjoyed farming, gardening and tending to his beautiful flowers, often with his cats and dogs by his side.  But Elmer’s true passion was spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and making them laugh with his many jokes.

He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Oley.

Elmer is survived by his two children:  Wendy S., wife of Eric Snyder, Nottingham, with whom he resided, and Scott E., husband of Maureen Taulker, Leesport.  Also surviving are three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 10AM in the Stitzel Family Funeral Home, 423 Main Street, Oley, PA, with visitation from 9AM to the time of the service.  Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
