James Philip Cote

James Philip “Jim” Cote, 75, died November 29, 2016 in his Bern Township residence.

He was the husband of Joanne Elaine (Rapak) Cote, to whom he was married May 15, 1965.

Born April 30, 1941 in West Reading, PA, he was a son of the late Philip and Mildred (Boyer) Cote.

Jim was a 1959 graduate of Muhlenberg High School.

He was employed as a metallurgical technician with Brush-Wellman, Shoemakersville for 28 years, retiring in 2001.

Jim served in the U.S. Navy.

He was a member of Holy Guardian Angels R.C. Church, Hyde Park.

Always smiling, and a lover of music, Jim loved dancing, which he and his wife did often.

He enjoyed traveling with his wife and children, enjoying trips to Europe and Alaska.

Jim was a gardener and enjoyed making candles. 

Also surviving are his two son, Christopher J., husband of Mitzi Cote of Mohrsville and Kenneth W., husband of Sarah Cote of Bloomington, IN and his three grandchildren: Cameron, Cassandra and Nicholas.

Services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, 3121 Kutztown Road, Reading, PA 19605.  A viewing will be held from 8:30-9:30 a.m. in Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale.  Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
