Betty Frances Jacoby

Betty Frances Jacoby, 88, of Muhlenberg Township, died September 9, 2017 at Berks Heim, Bern Township.

She was the wife of Richard Chester Jacoby, to whom she was married April 2, 1949.

Born May 10, 1929 in Adamstown, Lancaster County, she was a daughter of the late Jacob Abraham and Anna Valeria (Dunkelberger) Redcay.

Betty was a 1947 graduate of Reading High School.

She was employed as a waitress with Arner’s, 9th and Exeter Streets, Reading for a number of years, as well as Farmer’s Pride Poultry, Reading for a number of years.

Betty was an avid golfer and enjoyed dancing alongside her husband over the years.

Surviving are her two sons: Steven R., husband of Kristen Jacoby of Exeter Township and Jamie L., husband of Carol Jacoby of Richmond, VA.

Also surviving are her three brothers, Donald Redcay of Reading, William Redcay of North Carolina and Richard Redcay of Laureldale.

Other survivors include her five grandchildren, Andrew, Daniel, Abel, Benjamin and Margaret and her two great grandchildren, Everett and Fiona.

Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale.  A viewing will be held from 10-11, at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Good Shepherd Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
